Beagle Premiere

At long last, that understated wunderkind of guitar pop, Stephen Bandola, returns to the airwaves. His newest incarnation The Beagle Ranch is a mostly solo, multi-instrumental affair featuring lead guitar and production by Jeff Burns. Calgary scenesters might remember Stephen and Jeff from their previous incarnation, Citrus Park.

The new single, Holding Onto Nothing, is a defiant jangle against loneliness.

Hear the world premiere of The Beagle Ranch on Rory's show, Walk and Chew Gum, on CJSW tomorrow (Tuesday), from noon to 2:00 MST.

Here's a taste.

Geez, why does nobody think I did that image myself? Yup, those are my mediocre Photoshop skills on display...

Good things about working from home:

- nobody complains about me playing John Zorn really loud
- writeoffs
- cuddle visits from Minou
- can simultaneously do laundry (theoretically)
- bottomless soy milk
Bad things:
- no tech support
- being woken by client calls
- the feeling that the real world is passing me by
- being at the mercy of Shaw

According to science fiction, by 2002 we would have cities in the sky. Personal jet transporters. At the very least, hydrogen-powered cars. None of it has happened.

But you know, if I saw this combination, I'd say our shiny Jetsons future has pretty much arrived.

Happy New Year.
